About Doug

Doug was born July 4, 1962, in Waterbury, Connecticut, to Jeremiah and Gertrude (Rick) Druan. He graduated from Carrington Elementary School, Sacred Heart High School, and the University of Connecticut. After college, he met and married his wife, Jennifer (Jones) Druan, and they became parents to twin boys, Zachary and Michael. Doug and Jennifer built a beautiful home in Wolcott, where they raised their family and became active members of the community.

Doug’s untimely passing on August 8, 2024, prompted the family to establish a foundation in his honor. Doug was known as an amazing person and loyal to the friendships he developed throughout his life. He was actively involved with people from his childhood, college, and beyond who remained in his life until the end.

Doug worked as a salesman and general manager in companies throughout the Naugatuck Valley. But Doug’s main focus was always his family. He enjoyed coaching baseball, basketball, and football, especially football. Although he taught young men about the techniques and fundamentals of the game itself, he took pride in teaching them important life lessons. He taught about respecting family, displaying honor to others, and building teamwork. His passion and drive became evident by his own personal commitment, as he led by example.
